Day 7 – 33 Revolutions

Day 7 - 33 Revolutions

Monday, January 22 – Today is my thirty-third birthday. Like several of my posts, I am writing te day after simply because I chose to live in the moment and not recount. Normally, I wake up to my social media accounts being blown up with notes of happy birthday. That morning…. nothing…. I was momentarily disappointed and then I remembered that I was able to get the certified copis of my name change order.

And so my day started by taking my wife to work. I did have to stop in to the office to print paperwork and then it was a drive over to the county clerks office. Once I arrived at the office, it was nearly empty. I was able to walk straight to the desk. But alas, government strikes again! I was directed to go to request the files directly from the courthouse. So I loaded my happy ass back into the truck and continued downtown to the courthouse.

It was strange to see the security for the courthouse. They ran my purse through an xray machine and had me take me watch and boots off to scan. It was rather reaffirming when the security office said, “Ma’am, may I search your purse.” It was a day of affirmations.

I made it to the third floor and began searching around to find where I was supposed to go to request my documents. I decided to go ahead and just check the kiosk and take a number. R905. Literally as long as it takes to read this sentence, I was called to the window. Yeay! Goverment Efficiency! The clerk asked for my ID and the case number.

They saw the date of birth on my ID and wished me a happy birthday. Then they saw the paperwork that I was getting certified and thought that it was a wonderful birthday present to get the name change order. I was now able to proceed to the next step of amending my birth certificate. Luckily, it was one of the paper groups that I had printed out earlier at the office.

I was off to my next adventure, getting paperwork certified by a notary. I zipped over to a “fingerprint hut” as they had an on staff notary. Between all of these offices, it took me longer to drive everywhere than it did to actually get any of this done. I do still need to finalize the birth certificate paperwork to send in to Vital Records.

Now for the hormone changes. My chest has been sore for a few days but the feeling makes me incredibly happy. It means the medications are doing their wonderful magic. But, something has changed. I took some me time and the physical feeling is definitely different. Instead of sensation being localized, it is becoming a whole body experience and is taking more time to build. Strangely, it makes me happy that it is feeling some much more real and correct. Before, I wouldn’t say that it felt wrong but it felt like an itch you can’t scratch. The doctor also warned me that my libido would be reduced but if anything…. it feels like it has increased….. Hopefully, levels will get settled quickly because I like these feelings too much.
